GDPR and CCPA rights

MoneyVue is built to respect data-subject rights under the EU's GDPR and California's CCPA, even though our service is currently available only in the United States and Canada.

Your rights

Under GDPR and CCPA, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we have about you.
• Port your data to another service.
• Correct inaccurate data.
• Delete your data ("right to erasure" / "right to delete").
• Opt out of sale or sharing of your personal data — we don't sell or share, so this is automatic.
• Object to certain processing.

How to exercise them

Access and portability

Export your data from your account settings. The export contains every record tied to your account in JSON. See Exporting your data.

This satisfies GDPR Article 15 (right of access) and Article 20 (right to data portability), and CCPA's right to know.

Deletion

Delete your account from settings. The deletion is immediate and irreversible. See Deleting your account.

This satisfies GDPR Article 17 (right to erasure) and CCPA's right to delete.

Correction

Most user-facing fields (name, email-name, profile, transactions) are editable directly in the app. For fields you can't edit (e.g., account email), email support.

This satisfies GDPR Article 16 (right to rectification).

Other requests

For anything else — objections to processing, automated-decision-making questions, restrictions — email privacy@moneyvue.app.

Identity verification

For deletion and access requests, we require:

• Authentication to your MoneyVue account.
• A verified email address.

This protects you from impersonation. We will not act on a deletion or export request from an unauthenticated channel.

Response time

In-app actions (export, delete) are immediate. Manual requests are answered within 30 days, usually much faster.

What we share with third parties

The third-party processors that touch your data:

• SimpleFIN — bank-feed bridge.
• Your AI provider — only when you use Insights and only the data described in AI privacy.
• Stripe — billing.
• AWS — hosting.
• PostHog — anonymized product analytics.

We never sell or rent your data, and we never share it with advertisers.

FAQ

I'm in the EU — can I use MoneyVue? MoneyVue is currently available only in the United States and Canada. Account creation from the EU is blocked. You can still exercise GDPR rights for any historical account.

Can I get a written response to a privacy request? Yes. Email privacy@moneyvue.app and we'll send written confirmation of any actions taken.
