Cancellation reminders

Flag a subscription so MoneyVue reminds you before the next charge — useful for free trials and services you only want for a billing cycle or two.

Setting a reminder

  1. Open Subscriptions (or Recurring).
  2. Click the subscription you want to flag.
  3. Toggle the cancellation reminder on.
  4. Choose when to be reminded (e.g., 3 days before the next expected charge).

The reminder fires through your configured notification channel and on the Subscriptions page itself.

What happens after the reminder

The reminder is a nudge — MoneyVue does not cancel the subscription for you. You go to the service's site or app, cancel it, and then come back and either:

  • Mark inactive — keep the historical record and stop counting it toward run-rate.
  • Dismiss the pattern — hide it from the list entirely.

Avoiding surprise charges

Two habits help:

  • Set a reminder the moment you sign up for a free trial.
  • Review the Subscriptions page once a month — sort by amount and confirm every entry is something you still want.

FAQ

Do reminders use my email? Reminders surface in-app. Email reminders depend on your notification settings.

Will MoneyVue cancel the service for me? No. MoneyVue is read-only — it never moves money or interacts with the service on your behalf. You still cancel through the provider.

Can I set reminders on bills (rent, utilities) too? Reminders are designed for cancellable subscriptions, but you can flag any recurring entry. Bills are usually classified as bill rather than subscription based on category.
