Monthly summary

The monthly summary is a recap of what happened with your money over the last month — top categories, top merchants, biggest changes versus the prior month, and any subscriptions that came in.

Where to find it

Open the Insights page and ask the assistant for a monthly summary, or use the Reports page for the same data without AI in the loop.

What's in a typical recap

Ask the assistant: "Summarize last month's spending."

A useful answer covers:

• Total spent for the month.
• Top categories by dollars.
• Top merchants by dollars.
• Notable changes versus the prior month (categories that grew or shrank by a lot).
• Subscriptions billed in the month.
• Any unusual charges the assistant flagged.

You can ask follow-up questions to drill into anything that catches your eye.

Email or push delivery

Scheduled monthly delivery (email or push) is on the roadmap but not shipped. For now, recaps are on-demand from the Insights chat.

FAQ

Will the summary be the same every time I ask? Roughly. The underlying data is the same, but AI responses vary in wording. The numbers should match.

Can I get a year-end summary? Ask the assistant. Year-to-date queries work as long as the data window covers what you need; for a full prior year the assistant may need you to use Reports instead.

Where do I see monthly trends without AI? Reports has month-by-month breakdowns of spending, income, and category trends, plus a year-over-year view.
