Transactions overview
The Transactions page is the main ledger view — every transaction across every account you've enabled, in one list.
What you see
- Date — the post date the bank returned.
- Description — the cleaned-up merchant or memo. The original raw description is kept in case you need it.
- Category — the assigned category. Click to recategorize.
- Amount — negative for spending, positive for income. Reimbursable, recurring, and split markers show as small chips.
- Account — which connected account the transaction belongs to.
What you can do from this page
- Search — type into the search box at the top. See Searching and filtering.
- Filter — narrow by account, category, date range, amount, or transaction type.
- Categorize — click a category to change it, or use bulk-edit to update many at once.
- Split — open a transaction and click Split to break it into multiple categories. See Splitting.
- Add manually — click Add transaction to record something not pulled from a bank. See Manual entry.
- Import — bring in transactions from a downloaded OFX/QFX file. See OFX import.
Reviewed and unreviewed
Each transaction has a reviewed state. Marking transactions reviewed is optional, but useful if you want to step through new activity without losing your place. Filter by Unreviewed to see only what's new since you last looked.
FAQ
Why is the description different from what's on my bank statement?
MoneyVue cleans up raw merchant strings (SQ *MERCHANT 123 becomes Merchant) and lets you set a custom display name per merchant. The original raw description is preserved.
A transaction is missing — where is it? Check the date range filter, then the account filter. If both look right, see Missing transactions.
How do I see only one account's transactions? Use the account filter chip, or visit the account directly from the Accounts page.
