You can't sign in. Here's a sequence to work through.

Forgot your password

  1. On the sign-in page, click Forgot password.
  2. Enter the email address on your account.
  3. Check your inbox for the reset link.
  4. Click the link and set a new password.

Reset links expire after 1 hour. If yours expired, request a new one.

If the email doesn't arrive within a few minutes:

  • Check spam and promotions folders.
  • Confirm you're using the email you signed up with.
  • Add support@moneyvue.app to your allowlist and try again.

Passkey not working

If your passkey prompt doesn't appear or fails:

  • Confirm the device has the passkey registered. Passkeys are per-device — one registered on your laptop won't work on your phone unless you've added it there too.
  • Try the password sign-in path as a fallback.
  • Remove the broken passkey from Profile → Security and add a new one.

Some browsers and corporate environments block passkey prompts. Sign in with a password if your environment doesn't support WebAuthn.

"Account locked" or repeated failed attempts

After repeated failed sign-in attempts the account may be temporarily rate-limited to slow down brute-force attempts. Wait a few minutes and try again, or use the password reset flow.

"Email not verified" blocking actions

Email verification is required before you can delete your account or export your data. To verify:

  • Look for the verification email in your inbox (sent at sign-up).
  • Click the link to verify.

If the email is lost, the verification request can be re-sent.

  • The email on your account.
  • What you tried (password, reset, passkey).
  • Any error message you saw.

FAQ

Can I sign in with just a passkey, no email and password backup? Passkeys are an additional option, not a replacement. Your password remains valid as a fallback.

My password reset link says it's expired. Request a new one. Reset links are short-lived for security.

Did MoneyVue lock me out for a region restriction? Possibly — MoneyVue is currently US- and Canada-only. If you're traveling abroad, sign-in may be blocked by GeoIP. See What we store for what region check applies.
