Missing transactions

A transaction shows on your bank's website but not in MoneyVue. Walk through this checklist.

1. Confirm the date range

The Transactions page filters by date. If a date filter is active, transactions outside the range are hidden.

  • Clear or widen the date filter.
  • Try All time to rule the filter out.

2. Confirm the account is included

Two settings affect whether an account's transactions show up:

  • Hidden — hidden accounts are excluded everywhere. Toggle in Settings → Accounts.
  • Show in transactions — even if visible, accounts can be excluded from the Transactions list specifically. Toggle the Txns column in Settings → Accounts.

If either is off, the account's transactions won't appear in the main list.

3. Confirm the sync ran after the bank posted the transaction

Recent activity may not have synced yet. Check:

  • Settings → Connections for the last successful sync time.
  • Click Sync in the header to force a fresh pull.

Pending transactions on your bank's side typically don't return through SimpleFIN until they post. A pending charge may take 1–3 business days to settle.

4. Check the type and category filters

Filter chips at the top of the Transactions page can also hide rows. Clear all filters and check again.

5. Look for duplicates marker

If you imported an OFX file that overlapped with synced data, the duplicate detector may have skipped some rows during the import. The transactions are likely already in your account from the sync — search by description.

6. SimpleFIN's history window

Banks return only a window of history through SimpleFIN — usually 30 to 90 days, occasionally less. Older transactions can't be retrieved through automatic sync. To backfill, import an OFX file.

Still missing

If the transaction is recent, posted (not pending), the account is visible, and sync succeeded — contact support with the date, amount, and account. See Contacting support.

FAQ

Why don't pending charges show up? SimpleFIN typically only returns posted transactions. Once your bank posts the charge, it'll sync in.

Can I search across all accounts at once? Yes — the search box on Transactions searches across every visible account.

My deposit shows in the wrong month — why? Transactions are sorted by post date, not transaction date. Your bank may have posted it on a different day than you initiated it.
